Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American musician, singer, and songwriter of British descendance. In the late 1970s, she served as a leader guitarist in the girl-only hard rock group The Runaways. The band was never able to The Runaways to become a major hit in America however they did gain a lot of traction in other countries, particularly Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. Ford took vocal lessons before releasing her first solo album, 'Out for Blood'. Unfortunately, her success was not long-lasting after which she was absent for a few years. The release of "Black" to the public in 1995 followed the album 'Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years following. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
